Brand NIKE History

The nike’s history begins with the meeting of its co-founders at the University of Oregon. It was here that middle-distance-running business student Phil Knight fell under the tutelage of the college athletics coach,Bill Bowerman. Nike would go on to grow out of the fasion of Bawerman’s sporting innovation and Knight’s marketing know-how .After  Knight’s travelling in Japan in 1962,the earliest business roots of Nike were formed.When he travelled ,Knight found that the production of training shoes  performed well .Ultiizing his business-course leanings, Knight had the entrepreneurial idea of importing these high-tech but low-priced athletic shoes into the United States.

Interestingly, even at this early stage it seemed that Knight had a far-reaching goal – to break the long-established brand nomination of the U.S. marketed by the then main player, adidas.

In the year of 1964,both took   500 dollars to found a company named Blue Ribbon Sport(BRS),which
was made soles of   Onitsuka training shoes. They put the products in the underground vault of Knight’wife’father’s.At the first year ,they sold 8000 dollars of importing shoes. In 1972,the tow finally invented a new kind shoes ,and they decided to produce themslf.They contracted the working process to the  Asian    factoeies where labor  was    low-priced l.They named the new shoes Nike(after the Greek goddess of victory).At the same time ,they had the unique logo”Swoosh“which was designed by Caroline Davidson, who met Phil while she was a student at University of Oregon.

Since the carefull and unique management and continual innovetion,the Nike played a briliant history.It  is in the lead.In the end  70s and early 80s,the market demand for Nike is large.60%  need to be ordered in advance .This gave Nike a good chance to plan and produce.In 1987 Nike released their firs model of the Air Max line. The air bubbles and comfortable feel convinced many people to grab a pair. Nike at first was only known as a running shoe company, but in 1984 Nike had signed basketball play Michael Jordan, which till this day is apart of Nike. Some of models that are well known till this day are: Nike Air Force 1, Nike Vandals, Nike Air Max line, and Nike Air Jordans. Till this day Nike continues to advance their technology, one model at a time.
